The Council is a not for profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of our Native American heritage. The membership extends throughout the United States, but members are primarily from Indiana. To become an Active Voting member, you must attend three meeting within six (6) months. You must be of Native American heritage or be sponsored by current active voting member with Native American heritage. An application is given to the Secretary upon request at your first meeting. A vote for active voting members is taken on the third meeting. To remain an active voting member you must have no more than six (6) unexcused absences for the preceding calendar year, if you do not attend you will be considered inactive. If you do not attend, but your dues are paid you will be placed on the Associate members list and you will continue to receive newsletters until your dues expires. Dues are $1.00 per month per adult. You must be 18 years of age before active voting membership may be considered. For those under 18 years of age our Mik Ki Si Ah Wah Sis Youth Group is available. Meetings are held each month during the same time as the regular adult Council meetings are held.
